Well, well! Drama unfolding at the SX Races this year… after having to go to a Semi to qualify, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac rode his ARC’d-out KX450 to the top step of the podium AGAIN, further eroding Champion KTM’s Ryan Dungey lead in the series… Out of the gate, both ARC riders got out fast to dual down the first set of whoops, with Tomac coming out up front… Dungey followed, with teammate Musquin pushing him for laps, before Ryan eventually got behind lapped Chad Reed, who was in 16th. Reed wouldn’t move out of the way (and was subsequently docked points and fined), and Dungey’s progression towards Tomac was cut short. The final podium was Tomac, Dungey and Musquin. Seattle is going to be epic next weekend!
In the 250’s, TLD KTM’s Jordan Smith continued his winning ways only one week after his first 250SX victory. Amazing what some confidence can do. Series points leader and Monster Energy Pro Circuit racer Joey Savatgy moved to the front on the first lap, was holding his lead, until he went off the track, allowing Smith to take over the lead. Cianciarulo and Osborne were following, Dylan Ferrandis got into the mix, and at the finish line it was Smith, Savatgy, and Osborne, tightening up the East Coast standings.
